The first thought you might have when this topic comes up is…yikes! It’s not easy to sell—if we were all good at it, we’d be making a mint in sales jobs. It’s an essential skill for your career, though---you must know how to sell yourself.

Pick up a book on self-promotion and you’ll probably read a lot about ‘believing in yourself’ and ‘visualizing success’. While these are good tips, there’s much more to selling yourself successfully. Sales begins and ends with communication. And to sell yourself you must be a great communicator. The good news is, these tactics can be learned. Let’s review a few:
