What's a dietetic internship applicant's worst nightmare? Not getting matched to their favorite internship, of course.

Unfortunately, this nightmare becomes a reality all too often. According to D & D Digital's recent computer-matching statistics, only 55% of students that applied for the April 2008 match were matched during the first round. What's even worse is that this acceptance rate has been trending downward (a 9% decline since last year) because the number of available internship spots is staying about the same and the number of applicants is rising. Can it get any more horrifying? Yes it can! Some students are not receiving matches in the first round even though internships have open spots after the first round (resulting in a second round free-for-all). “Competition is fierce” is definitely an understatement. So, let’s try to uncover the clues you need to finding your “perfect match”....so that you actually GET MATCHED!
