A friend of mine recently attended a meeting presented by the World Laughter Tour. She spent an hour engaging in various activities meant to bring out her “inner giggle.” While she went there with reservations about participating in purposeful laughter, she left feeling completely refreshed.
The power of laughter has been documented through research studies yet it doesn’t take a laboratory and a team of scientists to prove that being happy and content feels great!
Turn that frown upside down and find your inner giggle today!

Why did I want to read this book? I must confess this is my first book on intention — when I started reading it I thought it would be along the lines of a never-give-up attitude combined with a visual that brings you closer toward fulfilling your dreams. Part of me thought there was more to it and has driven me to read up on it.
In the last 3 years I have changed many things in my life and found things came together oddly (miraculously is better word) beyond just hard work or coincidence and believe something bigger was operating in my life. I have ideas on why, but wanted to explore whether intention played a role in these positive changes. Read more on my life in About Teresa.
Chapter One:
Right away the book sets me straight on what intention is and is not. I am still grasping at it. The best I can say for now is it is a powerful force that can be dormant or awakened to bring you in alignment with your own purpose. This force exists in all things. The book uses a mosquito and acorn as examples where they do not think but become. Intent is in both physical and nonphysical developments. The nonphysical development is beyond me right now, and hopefully will become clearer as I read on.
I do understand the talk on ego. The principle is if you allow ego into your life you are putting out the energy of (blocking) intent. That makes sense. I have worked hard and every day continue to work to focus on detaching myself from my ego. This chapter gives six ego beliefs (pg 10). The first three are easier for me to grasp than the last three.
1. I am what I have – possessions…
2. I am what I do – achievements…
3. I am what others think of me – reputation…
4. I am separate from everyone – body defines me
5. I am separate from all that is missing in my life – desires vs. my life
6. I am separate from God – my life determines my worthiness for God
I have worked hard these past years to release myself from the first three ego beliefs. I believe that has made a difference in my life.
There is a visualization used multiple times in this chapter on reaching up and grabbing an old fashioned trolley car strap high enough so your feet are off the ground and you allow the trolley to take you where you are destined to go. By grabbing the strap you are letting
go of ego thoughts and allowing yourself to reach intention. For me this means trusting it will be okay.
I have a bracelet I had custom made for me once things in my life picked up. Previous to that I had an index card in my purse with that saying on it. I wanted to continue to have something close to me to remind me constantly that things will work out if I let go and trust it will be okay – that is why I had the bracelet made.
The book uses the phrase:
“Trust in intention. Stay alert, and be willing to accept any guidance that comes your way. “
My interpretation is “Trust it will be okay.”
This is what I have experienced in my life in recent years. I would love to understand “it” more to allow “it” to continue to be present in my life. I will continue to read on.
Please share where you feel intention has been present in your life.
